Before we start, I want you all to understand that there is a huge difference between CV and Resume and that understanding these two terms is crucial, especially if you are “fresher”. A CV (full form Curriculum Vitae which in Latin means “course of life”) is an in-depth document that describes the whole course of your career in full detail. It’s usually two- or three-page long but can just as well be laid out over 10+ pages, if necessary. A Curriculum Vitae contains details about your education, professional career, publications, awards, honors, and other achievements. On the other hand, a resume (or résumé, from French “to sum up”) is a short, concise document used for job applications. The purpose of a resume is to provide the recruiters with a brief overview of the candidate’s work history. A resume is targeted at a specific job and one to two pages long. If you are choosing a career in the Aviation Industry somewhere in the Middle East and especially if you are a “fresher”, then you certainly need more than one page and you should focus on preparing a CV and not a resume. The HR teams of the Middle Eastern Airlines would want to know and get more information about you and in a highly competitive job market, you definitely wanna be noticed and offer more. Many Cabin Crew consultants wannabes, due to lack of knowledge of course, do not clarify this with you. However, it is crucial to know and this is how your mind set for preparing this document will be correct from the very beginning.
Your CV should be divided into thematic sections (e.g. work experience, education, skills), which may vary from case to case. You will find literally hundreds of different formats for CVs. The form is highly flexible. Be sure to create your own thematic sections according to your own needs and in this case you should focus on the Cabin Crew job.
Your CV should work in reverse chronological order. It is usually not signed. The sections of a CV may be:
NAME, ADDRESS, CONTACT DETAILS
OBJECTIVE (short cover sentence)
PERSONAL DETAILS (but see below)
EDUCATION: RELEVANT UNIVERSITY COURSES
WORK EXPERIENCE or PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE PROJECTS
ANY ACHIVEMENTS OR AWARDS
I have well elaborated this sections in the following video:
